New Yorkers will feel at home this winter in La Plagne thanks to a graffiti job on one of nine gondolas which were removed from the Roche de Mio cable car – on the Bellecôte glacier and will be reinstalled ready for next winter.
The new paintwork is the result of the efforts of participants in the second Urban Plagne event which ran for five days last week at the French resort’s Bellecôte base.
Urban Plagne is an event entirely dedicated to young people. It offers them the chance to explore and develop their interests via a series of free demonstrations and training with well known professionals.
Along with graffiti painting lessons and demonstrations, participants enjoyed hip hop dance displays and lessons. There were also video games to be enjoyed in a group or ‘solo; skateboard and roller blade ramp lessons, demonstrations and contests; music concerts with DJs offering mixing workshops and skate videos shown throughout the festival. Workshops in video production were also available.
