Plans for the world’s largest snow centre, Snow Games in Belgium, are reported to be moving forward ten years after the project was first planned.
The 86 million Euro Snow Games would have a 100,000 square metre snow surface, nearly three times the largest indoor slope that currently exists, and slopes up to 800m long.
The centre aims to have two six-seater chairlift serving five runs, including a green, the 800m blue, two reds and a black run. Target visitor numbers are 650,000 in the first year rising to 1.19 million by the third year.
Snow Games aims to open in 2008 and will be Belgium’s fourth snowdome.
