World Lift Ticket Price Study 2006-7

The annual survey of lift ticket prices from 400 ski areas around the world has been published by worldwide ski resort research company Snow24 plc for the sixth consecutive year.

As previously the study compares the prices of non-discounted six-day adult ski lift tickets purchased over the period including 1st January 2007.

This year the Report is divided in to two sections. Firstly there’s an Executive Report over-viewing price trends with comparisons to previous seasons, and secondly, new this year an Excel spreadsheet with more than 40 facts on each of 400 ski resort’s lift ticket pricing. The 40 facts include the maximum and minimum one and six day ticket prices for adults, children and, where offered, teen and senior pricing. The age bands are shown for easy comparison and there are text notes to explain the rules and requirements for each ticket type/age band.

This year’s key facts:

• More than half of ski resorts new selling lift tickets online for first time.
• Most expensive six day lift ticket in Europe reaches 250 Euros ($325 / £165),
in the US past 550 Dollars (425 Euros/£280).
• First former ‘communist block’ nation joins the Euro currency.
• Age band for discounts for senior tickets getting higher / disappearing.
